I like the synths you used, and the melody.
But the drums aren't proper dubstep attire if you know what I mean. d:
That kick needs to be heavier, and punchy.
Instead of using actual drums use high processed snares and thick claps.
It seems all too random right now, work on your organization more.
though I rate this a 3 out of 5 I'll rate it an actual 5 anyways. (:

HumanDrumMachine responds:

It is meant to be a song to chill to, that's why I didn't use punchy hard drums. I put a lot of effort in making the drums (and all other sounds) so they'd sound like I wanted. It's impressionistic

Some pointers.
now just hear me out, I'm not hating on your song. i'm giving feedback.
I think the kick needs to be punchier, the hats and claps shouldn't be so sharp, and to tune their volume down.
You should throw in some thick snares.
I know it's only 55 seconds, but you should make it longer and add a nice bassline.
There's thousands of different basses, so I can't really tell you what to use.
Obviously it needs a drop. d:
Try some sweeps for a buildup, and a melody somewhere.
It's just a little too bland right now.
But you're on the right track! (:

Skaterolly responds:

All is gracefully accepted, thanks i will have a look into what you have said.

Yeh i woke up at 6 am and was like lets do this, well i fail at snares always have always will :P.
I have a longer version done of it but its still a w.i.p and i dont like posting fulls on here more for soundcloud :).

Half a star because I LOVE repeating wobble patterns and drums for 2 minutes.
The drums were extremely lacking for there were hardly any variations and no snares.
There was absolutely no progression, and very repetitive.
There was no variation or changes enough to keep a listener in tune with the song.
It sounded like you looped the same 8 bars for 2 minutes.
There was no melody, no atmosphere, and no interesting fluctuations whatsoever.

madnessassault responds:

I bet you didn't even listen to this with an open mind, and just wanted to post hate, because I didn't enjoy your track. I'm not even going to bother refuting what you've said because clearly your an expert at garage band, that you use on your school purposed Mac.

I think the beginning was a little rough because that hat is a little sharp me. d:
But as it progressed it gradually got better. I love the synths in this, what VST do you use for that?
Haha, and it looks like my song and your song are battling for first on most popular.. >:D

durn responds:

Aye, should've started at a lower volume, may yet still! No VSTs were used, just some of the synths in Reason. And I dunno what most popular list you're lookin' at but you definitely bumped me outta top 4, ya jerk! ;) Thanks for the review, Detious.

Ah! i think your wobbles and basses are amazing! But I have an issue with the organization. It seems kind of random to me. But none the less it's great!

mako94 responds:

Sweet. I give you full permission to remix this song. Please PM if you do so i can put it on youtube.

;D ;D

Clowns breakdancing.

YakovlevArt responds:

Oh haha, there we go!
Exactly =]

Magnificeeent!

I absolutely love this song. I smiled so hard at the drop.
I wish i knew the tricks you used here. Like the vocal chopping, and actually putting good use to the dirty noises.
Crazy track, guess who's on my favorites list? :D

msevaamore responds:

Thank you so much! :) <3

I personally enjoy this.

It's new, I've never heard of a "tracey dub" track before, and you just made it!
I know you don't produce Dubstep, but you should definitely add an LFO to the bassline, besides that it was good. That sounds like Skrillex in the beginning!!

YakovlevArt responds:

Yeah I know what you mean. Most likely I will add some kind of wub-wub =]
Recently I have been working on thing track, I feel it's going to end up being half dubstep, half full on dance.

Also, yes that is a sample of Skrillex in the intro =]

Damn It's been a while.

Shit dude, I haven't been on this site in a while.
Once again, brilliant, though I think there should be some pads orsomething or sweeps in the background to fill that empty void behind the epicness.
By the way, where do you get your samples? Your kicks and whatnot, or do you make them? Message me HOE! :D

YakovlevArt responds:

Haha, excellent review!
I did try to add pads and sweeps in the intro and breakdowns but keep them away from the main drops and such because I wanted you to hear more drums and bass -HA!

I guess you could say I made my own drums, I did layer a few kicks and snares and such, but for the bassline that I made all on my own :3
-I ended up having to re-sample to get it to sound the way it does though.

Interesting.

I imagine a boy walking through limbo at the beginning, I'm not to sure what happens to him once the kick comes in. I think you should have kept it simply and calm like it was from 0:00 to 0:25, instead of the kick and lead coming in. It gives off a darkish kind of sound, but I think the lead synth and the kick kind of kill that mood for me. Other than that it sounds great. Check out my music?

KiraLiske123 responds:

I somewhat agree with you, but I couldn't find anything else to add to the intro, and my mind always wanders into techno, even in heavy metal (most of the time). I may try making something like this again.
